“Perchè non parli mai del passato?” Le chiese.

“Non parlo del passato proprio perchè è passato,

ormai non conta più.” Gli rispose.

 

“Credo che la gente parli del passato

quando ancora lo considera il suo presente.

E sai quando capita?” Chiese lei.

 

“Questo succede di solito quando si cominciano a dare altre chances.

Non sto insinuando sia sbagliato, io stessa credo nelle possibilità

e concedo una seconda, terza, decima chance.

Ma la mia esperienza con le chances è che più ne concedi

più tendi a ripetere lo stesso errore,

sbagliando non una, dieci volte.

Soffrendo non una,

dieci volte tanto.

 

Ed è giusto sia così,

almeno è giusto per quelli che, come noi,

nella guerra tra Cervello e Cuore,

fanno vincere sempre il Cuore.

 

Ma poi sai che succede a quelli come noi?

A quelli dal cuore aperto?

Che ad un certo punto il cuore si stanca.

 

E quando si stanca il cuore, beh..

è quello il momento in cui il passato

diventa semplicemente

Passato.”
